Thumb drive inventor fined S$80,000 for failing to disclose S$14 million in company transactions

The man who created and patented the thumb drive has been fined S$80,000 for failing to disclose transactions worth about S$14.3 million. Tech firm Trek 2000's founder Henry Tan, also known as Henn Tan, failed to reveal transactions with two companies that were fully or partially owned by him or his family. The 63-year-old Singaporean was chairman and chief executive of Trek 2000 at the time of his offences in 2010 and 2013. He faces nine other charges for falsifying accounts, abetting forgery and conspiracy to cheat his company's auditors.
