I found this greater hammerhead shark that appears to have very recently died and washed ashore. By the looks not at the hands of humans as there are no indications of hooks or any damage, it’s a super rare opportunity so I thought I’d use my platform to find some qualified experts or those authorised shark biologists that might want to do research on the shark or instruct me to help, we might be able to help find out more about the species and raise awareness as I am in no way qualified, please hit me up ASAP if I can help in anyway! cheers Shop - https://youngbloods.co Main Channel - /youngbloods Follow Brodie - https://www.instagram.com/brodiemoss/?hl=en https://www.tiktok.com/@ ybsbrodie?lang=en REDDIT - https://www.reddit.com/r/YBSyoungbloodsfamily/

@keithallison37563 years ago Possible blunt force trauma( hit by boat or dolphin) could cause internal bleeding and possibly no external signs of injury. Not a marine biologist but trying to reason it out. Feel bad for it. Beautiful creature! 2

@frontlinefishing4163 years ago Okay i' ve caught alot of sharks and tagged them in exmouth off learmonth beach. Greater hammerhead main food is stingrays. I find it weird that its two things i can think of its been gut hooked and has died from lack of knowledge on that person part( only way to tell is open the sharks mouth and see if you can see anything in its throat or gut )
or it has eaten a stingray and a barb has hit something vital( opening it up again)
thats still a juvenile shark and i would highly doubt it just died
im curious myself so if you figure it out please make another video

@uhl37063 years ago Man, just call up the marine sections of james cook university or whichever uni is close to you. Record the size, weight and sex of the fish. If you dont h you could have a look in the guts, what did it eat etc. Take some samples of tissues like liver, spleen, stomach, brain, etc. Store in the freezer. Might not be cold enough but perhaps someone could use those samples. We snap freeze in liquid nitrogen and the samples can be analyzed later.
im quite confident that there are shark project that could use some amateur help in tagging and re capturing fish. Just not sure if a university is keen on support by someone whos making a living off using their name? But again - ask. If youre interested in that kind of work im sure someone will be happy about your contribution
