Lavender is one of the most fragrant perennials you can plant with many benefits extending beyond its sweet scent. Watch this video with Noelle, Horticulturist, and Education Director with Petitti Garden Centers, to learn more about the benefits of growing lavender in your garden. Along with beautiful blooms, there is so much more lavender has to offer. Lavender is considered to be deer resistant (yes, even in Northeast Ohio), and it's a great plant for repelling mosquitos! They prefer to grow in full sun environments, and they do well both in the ground and in container gardens. As with most perennials, we recommend fertilizing with @EspomaOrganic Plant-tone® and Iron-tone® to provide nutrients for those showy blooms. For unique color, try varieties such as 'Ellegance Snow' and 'Ellegance Pink'. For more traditional varieties, try 'Blue Cushion', 'Big Time Blue', 'Hidcote Superior', 'Munstead' or 'Phenomenal'.
