The Molten BG3800 basketball was launched in April 2020 and replaced the Molten BGMX range of basketballs. This is one of the best indoor basketballs available today but, the look of the ball is so different from the previous range so, how can you be sure you have a genuine basketball. To be absolutely clear I am not aware of any fake BG3800 basketballs on the market but to reassure you, I have videoed a genuine ball which was purchased direct, from and despatched by the UK Molten distributor. If you have any doubts the Molten BG3800 basketball you have purchased is fake, then by comparing the branding and markings on our genuine ball, should confirm if your ball is fake or genuine. The barcode is probably the best way to tell a real or fake ball so we also take a look at the barcode and list for each size. Fake basketballs tend to have the wrong barcode on them so it really should be your first test if you have any doubts. This video looks at the markings on a size 7 ball but we do include the barcodes for size 6 too. Size 5 isn't available in this model. I hope your basketball is genuine and by watching this video, it has put your mind at ease. If not, then contact the retailer or distributor for your country. This ball was purchased from the UK and is representative of the BG3800 balls available in the UK. Balls in other countries may have slightly different markings though, something we cannot prove as we are UK based.
