Some people sit in the pub on a Sunday and have a day to relax, not us. Strangely we all work harder on a Sunday than any other day of the week (don't tell our bosses I said that). When it's a labour of love and you're part of a crew all pushing in the same direction it is amazing what can be achieved in just a few months. This is what we built in the winter of 2014-2015. We had a rough autumn with storm after storm- and in a few weeks we had about 12 trees down. These we blocking every line but in every problem is an opportunity. We could bury the logs in a huge landing but no... we built a shelter. I cannot take any personal credit for it's creation- I helped (a little)- but this was really the brain child of Bob Coxage, the hardest working person I have ever met. Building a shelter wasn't enough- we also decided to build a new line from scratch along the edge of our plot. This vid shows from clearing the gorse all the way through to actually testing and riding the line. This video was re-edited during the Corona lockdown and watching all this old footage back has helped me deal with not seeing these legends or without riding the trails. I can't help but feel proud to be part of the crew- having them and the trails has shaped my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. Enjoy the vid- more to come every week!
