Donald Trump, Jr. found himself in an awkward position this week when he praised a spokesperson from the Taliban for attacking Facebook. The spokesperson was asked about "free speech" in Afghanistan but turned around and said that we should be worried about censorship from Big Tech like Facebook. Junior loved hearing this, and tweeted that they were "not wrong" in their assessment. Junior is the latest Republican to come out and support statements or actions from the Taliban - whether accidentally or not. Farron Cousins discusses this. Well folks, we can now add Donald Trump Jr. To the growing list of Republicans who for some strange reason are actually praising the Taliban after they overthrew the Afghanistan government. Donald Trump Jr. Is apparently giddy about the fact that the Taliban through their spokesperson attacked Facebook for censoring speech on their website. Here's what the, uh, Taliban spokesperson said. This question should be asked to those people who are claiming to be promoters of freedom of speech who do not allow publication of foreign information. I can ask the Facebook company, the question should be asked to them. And of course, this was in response to a reporter asking about freedom of speech in Afghanistan. Now that they've taken over and the Taliban says, Hey, whoa, whoa, wait, will you looking at us for, why did you ask Facebook about freedom of speech, right? And honest to God that may as well have been a Republican politician giving that answer. I mean, that sounds like that could have come out of the mouth of Matt gates or Marjorie Taylor green, or even Donald Trump Jr. Himself who retweeted this and said, LOL also not wrong. Okay. Lauren Bovert tweets out. The Taliban are the only ones building back better. Countless other Republicans out there praising the Taliban. Some of it sarcastically, some of it accidentally. And now you got Donald Trump Jr. Adding to the list, agreeing with them all because they attack the same group that people like Donald Trump Jr. And all these other Trump lovers hate it. Don't get me wrong. I hate Facebook too. Zuckerberg is running a monopoly over there. That's crushing smaller tech businesses. I've actually talked about that at length, over at ring of fire over the years, you know, the guy is a corporate scumbag at this point and I dislike it all too, but I'm not, not going to sit here and agree with the Taliban, especially because no, they're not correct. So sorry to burst your bubble there, Donnie Jr. I know you're still trying to win daddy's affection, but sucking up to the Taliban. Probably isn't the best way to get on daddy's good side and sure. Facebook has a ban on the Taliban Taliban. Can I go to Facebook? In fact, I'm pretty sure at this point, even if you mentioned the Taliban and a video, they're going to demonetize you and probably, you know, decrease your reach on that a little bit, but oh well it's news the day we got to talk about it. So it's what we do. And they've also of course banned Donald Trump. They've banned a couple other re uh, right-wingers I think diamond and silk got banned. There's also plenty of folks on the left who have been banned from Facebook or had their pages totally demonetized. So yeah, it does go both ways, but they are private company. They have terms and agreements that you have to agree to. And if you violate those, they do reserve the right, because you agreed to the terms to terminate your channel. So it is what it is. That may be a form of censorship if you want to go that far, but it's not a violation of the first amendment. It is not curtailing our freedom of speech. It is a private company doing what Republicans have fought for decades to allow private companies to do. And that is to basically ban anyone that they don't like. Regardless of the reason, it is Republicans who, who fought for that at the Supreme court and won, Hey, you won, you did this. So suck it up and deal with it and stop praising the Taliban. Just because you think that's going to score you some political points back here in the United States. I'm old enough to remember back in the days after nine 11, the years after nine 11, when any time a Democrat Derr mentioned that we shouldn't be fighting over in the middle east, we would get labeled as terrorist sympathizers. Okay. We literally have Republicans agreeing with the Taliban and let's not forget folks. The Taliban were the bad people before we knew what Al Qaeda was here in the United States. The Taliban were the original and now you've got Republicans, Don Jr.
